When you write a post, there is a very high risk that you will want to read it every now and then and edit it as you write. However, this is a big mistake. I spent 2 days writing this post. After that, I let the post sit for three days to incubate. Now I will finish the post.
At the same time, I will complete the post with regard to the missing parts.
If I had edited the post as I wrote it on Saturday, I might have been too critical of myself and removed parts that are important to you. That’s why I never edit a post as I write.
If you’ve been following my blog since the very beginning, you know that I tend to leave commas out of the right places. I don’t pay attention to the missing commas in the text, but more to the content.
But in the beginning, before I hired Saara to proofread my posts, I read my own posts out loud. By reading aloud, I often found typos and illogicalities, and sometimes even comma errors.
I always recommend hiring a proofreader
To all content creators. Excessive criticism of one’s own text is destructive in terms of content production. You often become blind to your own text, and you don’t want to find those tiny mistakes. That’s why a second pair of eyes is an excellent help in content production.
I admit. I’m really bad at finishing blog posts. 95% of my posts always end the same way.
After the actual text, I rewrite the title like this:
“Now you know how to write a blog post. Which of these tips will you use next?”
It’s nice, but it could be better. So I started Switzerland Phone Number List researching how other professional bloggers end their blog posts.
Here’s the formula I found:
The ending should be three-part.
The first is the transition from the text towards the reader, for example:
- “Now I’d like to hear your opinion.”
Next is a question, for example:
- “Which of these points suits you best right now?”
Finally, a call to action:
- “Comment below, let’s talk more.”
As you can see, the ending is a bit similar
to mine, but I think this is better. Although a blog post is always written “from me to you”, this ending gives the text a great finishing touch. Instead of just nudging “which tip do you implement”, the author makes a strong point that the reader’s opinion matters.
The ending of the three paragraphs encourages Phone Number List the reader to comment, and what I’ve read of other people’s blog posts, there are a lot of comments on them.
Another option if you want social shares for the post:
- “Now I would like to know your and your friend’s position on this.”
- “If you found the post to be of added value, please share this with a friend and ask for their opinion.”
- “I’d love to hear more thoughts from both of you.”
